Horserenity
Sarah Vivian is currently training to be a facilitator with EAQ and is working towards her Level 4 Certificate in Facilitating Equine Assisted Learning. She is a qualified teacher who has taught at both university level and in primary schools. Having spent time watching children and adults struggle in the traditional learning environment, Sarah decided that there must be a different way to help people feel a sense of achievement and confidence in themselves and their abilities. Sarah said "It's been incredibly rewarding being able to watch a relationship blossom between the horses and the learners that come here. Being part of their emotional learning and watching people, children in particular, being able to find a place of calm within themselves that they can take to other settings where anxiety might ordinarily take over and sabotage their day."

Horserenity operates from a farm near Spetisbury with wonderful views over the nearby hills. The centre offers opportunities to learn out of doors in a safe, natural environment with horses and other animals. This is an innovative way for children, young people and adults to engage in learning about themselves, their relationships and the world around them. The centre can also deliver elements of the curriculum for those children who are struggling at school or have been excluded.

Horserenity opened in early 2017 and has been working with young learners who are struggling with confidence and self esteem, particularly those who find it hard to access education in a traditional classroom environment.

Specialisms:
The centre specialises in working with those children who have difficulties in traditional schooling; those with special educational needs; children and young adults with poor literacy and numeracy skills;  people experiencing emotional trauma, carers who need respite and space and vulnerable adults.

Accreditations:
Sarah is able to offer nationally-recognised qualifications at Entry 3 and Level 1 through EAQ’s external accreditations with OCNLR. Subject areas include employability, animal care and functional skills in maths and english.
